Head down to the south coast to the French Riviera...

Notre-Dame of Nice
The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Nice is almost an exact replica of the original Notre-Dame in Paris. It is built in the Neo-Gothic style which was considered an architectural tradition at the time. It's distinct two square towers dominate the east front together. It is actually not the main cathedral, but it is the largest church in Nice and certainly one not to miss. And what's even better is it's free!

Russian Orthodox Cathédral de Saint-Nicolas
Believe it or not, one of the main languages spoken in Nice was actually Russian; it has a huge community at the time so there's no surprise why you can see this stunning Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicolas. Property of the Russian Federation, it is recognised as a national monument of France, and it currently belongs to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe! This church is also free!
Promenade Des Anglais
Hopefully the weather is great and you'll be able to walk the many miles of the most famous stretch of seafront in Nice – if not France, the vast paved Promenade Des Anglais. Spend your times at the beach, soak up the sun and enjoy a walk along the coastline of the French Riviera. The promenade itself is over 7km long!
The Old Town
Feel free to explore the Old Town whilst you're here: visit the main cathedral itself, of Sainte-Réparate de Nice, the Musée du Palais Lascaris and the Matisse Museum. I however definitely recommend climbing all the steps up to the Colline du Château, a hilltop park over looking the city, the beach, the sea, the marina; you will find incredible views!
All this you can do in a day, so that pretty much sums up our time here in Nice. You can't visit Nice without hopping on the train and heading to Monaco! Follow me as I find out, is it really all about glitz and glamour and all things luxurious?
