Is it all really about glitz and glamour and all things luxurious?

Out by the Marina in Monaco

When you come to Monte Carlo, you'll find supercars and super yachts; Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maclaren, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, you name it! But before we head over to the highlight of this trip, let me show you around the Historic Centre first...

Panoramic Viewpoint of Monaco

Climb the many steps to the top of the Historic Centre and take in the wonderful views of Monaco. No matter where you look you are surrounded by harbours with fancy, expensive boats and yachts. Admire a city, one of the wealthiest cities in the world, nestled at the foothills of the mountains. Whilst you're here, you can check out the Prince's Palace, the Cathedral, Fort Antoine Theatre and the Museum of Oceanography.

Prince’s Palace of Monaco

The Prince's Palace of Monaco is actually the official residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco. Built in 1191 as a fortress, during its long and often dramatic history it has been bombarded and besieged by many foreign powers. Although it is a private residence, there are some state apartments that are open to visitors for part of the year. I'd highly recommend listening to a podcast on the history of Monaco to know and understand more about it. Tickets cost €10 and you can click the link below to book yours now:

Cathedrale de Monaco

The Cathedral of Monaco is also called, the Cathedral of Our Immaculate Lady and Cathedral of Saint Nicholas. This Roman-Byzantine style building was constructed in 1875 using white stone and granite. It houses the tombs of Monaco's former sovereigns including the more famous, Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly. The cathedral is open Monday-Sunday 09:00-18:00.
